I had corrosion on some NOS tube pins.
Bought a package that contained Deoxit DN5 and Deoxit Gold GN5.
I first sprayed Deoxit DN5 on the pins let sit for awhile then wiped pins off. I followed this by spraying Deoxit Gold let sit for awhile then wiped pins off.
Did I even need to spray the Deoxit gold on after cleaning with DN5? The reason I did is because the bottle says "Enhances and Conditions"
The pins look great. Will this help conductivity?

If it evaporates with no residue it surely won't hurt.
I use flexible nail files for polishing finger nails for the pins, but gently so as not to remove more than jsut the oxidation, then I spray the pins and carefully insert in and out of the socket to help clean the sockets.
The flexible files work great for polishing and dressing frets too.

Well the amp is a week old so the sockets are new. My Nos tubes were a little funky.
But as long as I completly dried the pins and used a Q-tip to make sure there was no residue on them my amp should be ok then right?

Deoxit 5 is what I usually use with a good wipe with paper towel which is somewhat abrasive or if really bad some #0000 steel wool polishes them up . Cleaning pins on NOS tubes decades old is almost a must because if you don't a poor connection is very possable plus you will probably foul your sockets too .
