It seems like there are tons of these threads in the sections for the other amps, but not so much with the Delta. Anybody have any thoughts they would like to share about experiences with different cabinets and speakers used with the 88?

Well, I own about five speaker cabs but the only two that will come close to safely handling the Beast is my Z-Best and my "old" style Dr. Z 2X10. I haven't tried it with the 2x10 but the Z-Best sounds like it was made for that amp.

A stock Zbest 2x12 can handle about 60 watts...right?? A Delta can put out over 120 watts...so you have to be watch that you don't blow the sprakers.
I have been running mine through a Z 4x10 and it sounds pretty good.
The next speaker I will try is the Tonker in my 1x12.

correct me if i'm wrong but the stock zbest handles 90 watts. the delta can still blow the speakers if it is biased high and cranked though.
i really want to try out one tonker and one swamp thang in the zbest just to hear how loud it would be. ;D

I'm pretty sure it's 60. The G12H is a 30 watt speaker so you can only run twice the power handling of the lowest rated speaker.

I can tell you what I plan on doing - My 88 won't be here for another 2 weeks or so but I have a two-rock open back 1x12 cab, and I just ordered a ceramic 100 watt Weber Silver Bell for it. Hopefully it will sound good.

Michael Burks was running Z-Bests with two Celestion G12H100's in 'em... that should work with the Delta even at full bore.

Ran mine through a 1x15 Eminence today and it sounded pretty cool. Lots of low end and it still retained a lot of the top end.

How many watts is the tonetubby? Can it handle the Delta?

How many watts is the tonetubby? Can it handle the Delta? They are targeting the bass player, so I'm sure if they'll handle a bass amp, they'll handle a Delta. But I can't find specs on it.

be careful with a g12h if you aren't attenuating. I blew one that was paired with a v30 playing the delta around 11:00.

That's a bummer Randy. I have an open back with the same speaker compliment and have run the Delta around 2:00 for a set's worth of material on several occasions without issue. Maybe a speaker issue?

My 2 cents:
Get yourself 2 z-best 2x12's and a parallel box (or cable). Having 4 12's mean each speaker isn't having to work quite as hard and the result is a nicer sound IMHO. Plus it looks completely BADASS (see my pic in another thread).
