Was told putting reverb in front of the OD didn't work too well. What do you guys do?
TIA

Play dry. I don't find I miss reverb at all with this amp.

Before playing Z amps I always used a bit of reverb. After almost 2 years of playing with my MazJrNR and a short time now with the Mazerati GT I don´t miss reverb. The GT has such a fat tone that reverb is not necessary. I liked to play some clean sounds with a bit of reverb especially at home. In a band it´s not needed.

Are you using the Maz JR for clean and the GT for overdrive?

For me the GT is a pedal free amp. I have tried a few, but I think they detract from the tone of this monster. For me, all you need with this amp is the volume and tone knobs on the guitar and anything is possible.

Hi Archtopjazz, I play in the practice room and on stage just with one amp. Before I got the GT I used the MazJr with AC and BB Booster and started from a clean sound. The clean is very fat and as I changed the rec (Sylvania) and the preamp tubes to NOS (V1 5751, V2 and V3 to Brimar´s 4068) the clean stays clean till 12 o´clock on the volume knob. Master on full. Now I play with the GT as I don´t need the pedals. Clean sounds are nice too and in our band I don´t need louder cleans for the stuff we play. If I need louder cleans with the GT I would use my RC booster for that or the MazJr just for clean. For a setup with 2 amps you are right using the MazJr for clean sound. That depends on the music you play and is as always a personal taste. For me I´m interested in the new "Evan" 6L6 for a fendrish clean sound as I play at home a original blackface Super Reverb from 1965 and I like the fendrish clean sound. This amp is too heavy to carry around for me. Hope this helps.

Hello archtop. i use a lexicon mpx 110 occasionally for reverb or delay and use it last in the FX chain. typically, time-based effects go last.
i do agree with others here though - the GT is the only amp i have ever played where i am completely happy with no FX, but some of the more adventurous stuff i do requires a few toys.

The GT is so loud that the ringing in your ears after each note compensates for the lack of reverb!
Just kidding!!! ;D
I run straight into mine too. Any reverb in front of this amp probably won't work too well because of the gain. I don't think it needs it at all though.

Agreed, no reverb necessary with the GT, or any Z amp that I've played. I thought about running a reverb pedal into the effects loop of my MAZ Jr. NR model, but since I got the amp and started playing it, I haven't even missed the reverb. These amps are so rich in harmonics that reverb really isn't necessary, at least not for me.

No reverb needed for me. I run mine straight and up the gain and I'm there .

I can't see running 'verb with the GT either, tune in, turn on and jerk your knobs off...it's a rock & roll machine.
