Hi everyone
I would like to buy a DRZ Combo, for working in my house, not to loud in watts, for playing rockabilly/country style ...
What is the best choice ?
Thanks :-)

Maz Jr.
1x12 or 2x10 18 watts.
Possibly a Ghia, but you can't go wrong with a Maz Jr.

A Maz Jr would sure sound sweet in my house. Now, for those rockabilly licks... BTW, check out a 2x10 combo. I love those speakers.

Z-28. Very close to a brown face Fender...it works for Brian Setzer.

A big +1 for the 2x10 combo whichever you choose. The Dr Z speakers with the ''lens'' technology makes them sound much bigger than they are.
Cheers Jim

Does a fat baby poot? Another vote for the Jr. 2 10" would be great. Z-28, too. Can't go wrong either way..

Z28 Amp can do alot of things, and Rockin'Billy is just one of them...as well as blues, country, classic rock, and depending on the tubes and speakers, just about all that you could want....course, my maz 38 sounds pretty good too....lots of options....

Z-28. Very close to a brown face Fender...it works for Brian Setzer. Brian Setzer plays old 1963 Fender 6G6-B 50 watt Bassman heads into 2x12 cabs loaded with Celstion v30's... for live shows. For recording, anything goes, but he seems to still stick with vintage stuff.

A Maz can get a lot of that tone. Treble high, mids low and a closed back cab. He can also play a lot louder than most of us.

Is a bear catholic? Does the Pope sh!t in the woods?
+1 for the Maz Jr., but don't forget about the Mini-Z. If all you want is home use w/ some twang, you can get home levels and country twang from a Mini-Z. They're on Ebay from time to time for 500-ish.

Got to mention the Stang Ray.

I think you should really consider a Stang Ray. The addition of an Airbrake will bring it down to bedroom volume and still retain such a beautiful tone.

Maz Jr 2X10. Lot's of twang at a reasonable volume. And "spring" for the reverb, you'll be glad you did.

Man o man... I've been getting the coolest clean tones from my RXES - don't underestimate how frigging brilliant this amp is. I think it can do everything well, assuming you are willing to Airbrake a bit to get to the levels you want. It has more than enough power to get right out there, even clean, but if you want dirt it's right there for you. Country? Stick an Alnico Gold on there and hook in your Tele. Rockabilly? Oh baby, get your Gretch, it's right there on the knob!

Gotta agree with Benttop here. I'm running the RxES with a 1x12 cab loaded with a Gold and it's the best clean tone I've had. Nice and shimmery with tons of articulation and a percussive punch that you can really feel. This amp will do it all with style. Country, rock, blues, rockabilly, you name it. Best amp I've ever had by a long shot, and that's counting all my other Z's. There's just something special about the RxES in my book.

Z-28. Very close to a brown face Fender...it works for Brian Setzer. I'd have to agree with Lefty whole heartedly. The 28' is my 3rd "Z" and although my other 2 could cover it and lets face it no amp will give you a better clean, chimey twang than a Stingray,I think, if you are really picky a more American power section like the Z28's 6v6's or a Galaxie if more headroom is required. . If lower wattage is your concern the Z-28 with a Jensen style early 60's speaker made by one that makes em' like they used to in the old days, Weber, would nail your the tone your after. if your playing a Gretsch, a Weber 12a125s (alnico) would be the ticket. If you like 10's then I can't vouch for the "Z's" as I haven't heard them but If you go by what everyone else says then they are great as well.

DC here! I had better jump in here before "Tas" does. Ahh.... lets see... best amp for rockabilly hrm.. hahh.. hrmmm.. Yes I know a Route-66 with a 2x10" cab would do you a world of good. Fattest rockabilly sound around, I'd wager. ;D Cheers: Dixiechicken

I do a dynasonic-loaded Gretsch into my Maz Jr. NR 1x12 with a greenback all the time. It's got a great rockabilly tone, especially with the little Danelectro slap back delay i just picked up.
Having said that, I've played the maz with reverb and 2x10 and i think that would make an even better amp for rockabilly, tighter and bouncier. Usually I need thicker and more grind, so I went with my combo, but if I wanted it mainly for rockabilly, i'd do the maz reverb 210.

A little slapback and you'd have a very fat spanky rockabilly tone. I'd also throw my weight (not that I have much) behind the RXES for it's percussiveness and the Stangray. But yeah, I think any Z amp would just about cut it! Z28 is pretty underrated I reckon. Great amp.
