I'm new to negotiating forums so this may already exist somewhere. Is there a way to add a cut control to my Ghia? It's killer but I need a little less "shimmer".

I turn the tone pot down on my guitar. Instant cut!

What speaker(s) are you using? I've tried a few different speakers with my ghia and it makes a big difference.

I've used multiple cab/speaker combinations. The 12" V30 is the best match so far. Rollng off the tone control enough to offset the highs kills the pick attack for the lower strings. This is a killer amp. A Vox style cut control would be the icing on the cake. It's a simple mod...has anyone done it?

Yeah, I bet that V30 is bright. I have a 50W ceramic Weber Blue Dog and the Ghia is not at all birght with that. It isn't too bright with a Texas Heat, either. Until I got a Z Best with a G12H30 and a Greenback, I never knew why people said the Ghia was a bright amp...

I've just put a warehouse guitar speaker's v30 clone in with the greenback. Fantastic rich tone mix. Never had the amp too bright with any combination- I'm using a GE nos 12ax7 in v1 and nos RCA 12BH7 in v2, GT EL84 s. Is this why I've got mega fat tone and not an excess of highs? Could also be that I came from a 65 blackface Vibrolux. I like the concept of Ghia mods though- the Doc talked about posting some of those someday soon. Brett

The V30 is the most 'colored' speaker Celestion makes. I prefer neutral.
