I still use the damn things, squeaking, rattling, and difficult to engage and disengage (and all).

1. Are these "washer" types of locks pretty quick to snap on and off? 2. Are others displeased with the metal strap-lok? I wouldn't want to drop a guitar, but I sure miss the convenience of a simple strap. -steamroller- 1. Depends on the type of button. They can be hard to get around on some types. 2. I have the Dunlop Strap Locks on a couple guitars. In my experience, they don't always snap into place and I've almost dropped my guitar a couple times. I now give a tug to make sure they are secure before letting 'er swing. Once secure they work great but be careful!!!

My Fender Telecaster came with strap loks. They're getting on my nerves. If they're not adjusted just right, they are tough to get on, even tougher to get off. The strap won't fit in the case with the instrument, so I don't leave the strap attached. Is it a bad thing to use regular buttons and strap on a guitar? I have played decades with regular straps and buttons on acoustic guitars, but accustic s are lighter, my Telecaster weighs a couple of pounds more. I know I know, this is minor thing, but do most use strap loks on their electric guitars? -steamroller- Warmoth makes oblong strap buttons. When I assembled a partscaster, I installed 'em. warmoth.com/index.php/hardware/parts/strap-buttons/t-strap-buttons

Warmoth may be my ticket! No kidding, I like simple. And this might be it! I just tried the blue loctite, if it doesn't work I will go with the Warmoth-do you think the synthetic pegs are strong enough?

They changed them. The ones I bought were steel (two years ago).
I do use the rubber washers with them.
Maybe some other place sells steel ones.
