I took the pickguard off my Heritage H-150. Check out the before and after, I think it looks way better.
What do you think?

I like it better without. But if you're a heavy right-handed player, I would be worried about scratching the body.
I can accept the standard Gibson LP style pickguard, but the curved pickguard of Heritage looks funny to me.

I like it either way, and it's a shame to cover up that nice top with a piece of plastic, but I have an OCD side that requires a pickguard on Les Paul type guitars if they came with one.

My only issue with these is having “The Heritage” on the headstock instead of just “Heritage.” I think in a review I saw they had the same comments (Peaches, maybe?). Minor issue, but noticeable to me.

Without for sure with that beautiful top. If I could figure out a way to attach one to my City Limits that didn't involve drilling the body or risk damage to the finish, I'd probably put a clear one on it as I like the extra height of a pickguard for anchoring my fingers. Play damage isn't an issue for me.

Definitely without the guard. To great of a top to cover it.

Interesting .. I just looked on Sweetwater, and the Custom Cores say "Heritage" and the Standards say "The Heritage." Odd -- I never noticed that distinction before.

Beauty of a guitar. I'm a guard off kinda guy when it comes to Les Paul style guitars.

That’s a beautiful top on what I’m sure is a fine fine instrument. It took me a couple passes to notice the difference, so I would go either way. I’m probably in the minority here, but I like the contour of the pickguard, that maybe why I didn’t notice difference of before and after. Again in the minority and off topic, but I’ve grown to love their headstock design.

I like it nekkid but it’s a commitment to enjoying the natural aging process.

I'm thinking about a thing, and your post isn't helping the resistance. Dang, these custom cores are great.

I'm thinking about a thing, and your post isn't helping the resistance. Dang, these custom cores are great. The more I play it the more I like it. I had a gig for our war Veterans last Saturday, there were Vets from WWII all the way to Afghanistan, at least 500 attended. One Korean war vet came up to me and said, "That's a GREAT sounding guitar!" He looked at the headstock, and said, "it's not a Les Paul, right?" so I told him about Heritage. He just shook his head and said, "It sounds great, you don't play too bad for an old guy!" It was a very cool day.
These are really incredible guitars. One piece mahogany body, NON WEIGHT RELIEVED, great maple tops. Plays like butter and it weighs 8lbs, 7oz. I'm blessed with 4 Gibson LP's and this one is better than any of my Gibbys.

I like it without the pickguard. Also like the headstock without the word The. Sorta like the way I feel when the football players feel compelled to say "The Ohio State University"!

Ah man....you guys are making me want to buy another guitar! I know of the same killer deal I got on this one for a dirty lemon plain top. The reviews on these things are amazing. I can't wait to get it in my hands.

I like the looks of most LPs without a pickguard. I just don't like playing them that way. That matters more to me.

It took a while for me to get used to it when I got my '03 Premium Plus, and I hated playing it without a pickguard at first. I just had to make myself get used to it and now I'm cool with it either way.

I can't wait to get it in my hands. A new guitar is second on my list at the moment. First is a Z28 but what is really first is my wife wants new siding for the house so we have to do that before I get some new gear. Probably do the siding next year. I have told her that I will be getting the amp by the time I retire in 3 years though.
Enjoy your new guitar!
