Nice work! That was fun. Probably shouldn't admit that there's a Boss WAZA TAE headed here. Did I say I'm enamored with this technology? How does the Boss Waza TAE compare?

Nice work! That was fun. Probably shouldn't admit that there's a Boss WAZA TAE headed here. Did I say I'm enamored with this technology? How does the Boss Waza TAE compare? I received it Saturday and dug in on Sunday. After downloading updates and editing software and reading manuals, I can say it's far more pedantic than the OX. On the other hand, it may be fun. First blush out of the box has me underwhelmed-the factory presets sound listless. The OX sounds GLORIOUS right out of the box. It is the WAZA's options to configure (I'm about to enter this feature) that excites me. I'm curious if I can get it to sound as good as the OX. The WAZA editing seems one step closer to programming than working on the effects like the OX is.
The WAZA interests me because the post effects sound CAN be output to the speaker cab; I looked into a Fryette PS-100 to achieve this with the OX but alas, the PS-100's line level input is (unacceptably) mono. Today I learned through this thread what IRs are; I don't think the OX accepts them (UA offers just about every necessary IR preloaded w/ V1.20 so there's no problem there). The WAZA has the ability to load IRs so, eventually...
I've read that the WAZA's attenuation is superior to the OX. With the WAZA and OX in the livingroom I play through headphones. Mrs. Steiner watches her "programs" and I just play guitar, smile and murmur "This sounds fantastic!" So far, so GOOD.

So. My OX arrived. I pulled it out, went light on the reading and started playing through the ZWreck. My very first reaction to the first dry sound was, “crap, I could mic a cab that poorly in 30 seconds.”
Then I tried more presets. Then I downloaded the software. This thing is truly great!
Next question for you OX-heads: have you tried multiple OXes? I often use 3 amps for ambiance and utility. Are you able to run simultaneous instances of ox software on a host machine to control two or three OXes?

Are you able to run simultaneous instances of ox software on a host machine to control two or three OXes? We prefer OD'd-heads if you please... With multiple OXs and one host machine, you'd have to reset the Wi-Fi from one OX to the other OX's and then make changes; of course, each OX has 6 preset rigs that are manipulated with the rig dial on the face. I'm looking into amp switching systems where up to 8 amps can be switched (one amp at a time) and sent to one cab. That would permit you to readily play multiple amps through one OX. You then have 6 OX rigs you can preload and efficiently switch amps and rigs. All with one OX.
It's good to hear that you don't feel we've sent you down a dirt road!

Thank you steinerThat sounds manageable. I will likely get two more before long. The big problem is that it delays other amp purchases and changes the order of the list.

I use my Maz 18 NR mkii with my Ox all the time. It sounds great, especially through headphones. Also sounds great through an FRFR or PA type speaker. The signature sound of any amp I put into it really comes through and it has really taught me how a speaker/mic can have an impact on your overall tone. I'm very interested in the wreck jr and how it would work with the Ox. Anyone using this combo?

I've given up on the WAZA TAE. While they tout a more effective attenuation, but the built in effects don't do it for me. I'm not blaming Boss, I'm sure the effects are good and easily tweaked if you know about pedals; I don't. I'm not looking for attenuation so I'll be cashing out of that trial and error. Lesson learned.
I broke out the amp, OX and Fryette PS2s today and got loud in the back yard. Running: Guitar -> Amp -> OX line out (LH & RH mono) -> PS2s (one left and one right channel) -> Speaker cabs (again one RH & one LH). I used two 2x12 cabs, one with greenbacks the other with creams (one ceramic, one AlNiCo). One word: FUN! It sounds very close to playing through cans except you get that sound pressure smacking you in the chest. I think I've found a setup that's very close to sound nirvana for me. This is where I'll be investing my effort. It's so close, I can taste it. Gentlemen, it's a good life.
