That was great. I loved the loop and all of the knob turns. It makes me know that I made a good decision in pre-ordering this amp.

Great demo, really shows off the harmonic capabilities of the design. Really nice picker there too, very talented indeed. Got me thinking about one of these too, meaning in addition to the CAZ.

Yes, the way he used the loop pedal was really great. I'm very excited about this amp!

Nice! Sounds great, and really made me appreciate Don Carr as a player, too--dude is smokin! I love the way the ZWJr opens up when you get that volume control past about 1:00.

I agree with you, Jon...the amp just blooms when the volume comes up!! I liked the Master at 10 and the V at 2...that was sweet!! This is a killer amp!!

I just want to hear the thing with the master dimed!!! I hope there is a demo in the future with master dimed and volume at 2, demonstrating how it cleans up with guitar volume. Maybe Dave Baker did this?!?
That said. It’s a great demo. Well done and great playing from Don.

Maybe Dave Baker did this?!? That said. It’s a great demo. Well done and great playing from Don. Once you get to about 12 o clock on the master, the amp doesn't get too much louder, just thicker sounding as you hear the speaker start to breakup. Per both Z Wreck designs, you can get your clean from volume knob roll off even when the amp is full blast. In my opinion, in the demo, when Don turns the volume all the way up, this is more or less the level of saturation you hear with the master dimed too. Any louder and then you are just experiencing fletcher-munson curve i.e. louder is always better!

Thanks frankie. Yes, louder is more gooder! Totally get that about that MV. The MV on my RXJR seems to respond the same way. Guess I'm really just wanting to see HOW responsive the JR is vs the original. It's probably something you have to have your hands on to truly know though.

Yeah--this'll be an easy one to dial in, I'm thinking. Get that volume control up to 2:00 or 3:00, master to fit the situation, maybe roll off the cut and treble just a tad...

Don Carr states it is 18 watts in the video but it is supposed to be 15 watts. Caught that little error.

Nice to see a greenback in there!
I'd sure love to A/B the wreck Jr against a Ghia.

Perhaps Dr. Z thought it would be 15 but as the final product came out he saw 18. I hope it’s 18. We’ll soon know for sure when all the specs are written in stone.

Please guys do you think you can tell the difference between 15 and 18 watts by ear? When I QA'd the first dozen or so I found then falling between 15 and 18 watts RMS mostly do to wall power variations. I rated it on the website at 15 watts because if a certain type of player gets a Z Wreck Jr. and he measures or his tech measures say 16 1/2 watts he will complain that is amp is low powered. But if this same amp measures 16 1/2 watts and its rated at 15 watts , he says wow my amp is over powered lucky me. This is the same thing Auto manufactures do they underrate horse power so all cars will pass spec , and always will will be measured higher. Believe me once you plug into a Z wreck Jr. it's stated wattage will be the last thing on your mind, you will be amazed by its tone. Z

I ask as a long-time Ghia owner who is interested in the Jr., but a little worried that there's going to be a lot of overlap between the two. Thanks!

Seriously, definitely a smart move to under rate it because THAT GUY who will measure the output and complain if it's too low definitely exists out there.

They is quite a bit of difference between the two designs. MAZ has more output power, reverb, multi controls for more variation , Master volume, just to mention a few. More VOX influence in the MAZ, more old time Marshall/Supro in the Ghia. I'll let the group of users who have both chime in . Z

Hey Doc loving the sound of the Jr! I know it's been mentioned before but just to keep the bug in your ear I would love to be able to have my Z Wreck modified with the MV (if it's possible). I already own 2 Z's and can't really justify (need to stay married) a 3rd.

I was asking about the differences/similarities between the Ghia and the Wreck Jr., though, especially given them sharing a transformer (I think that's what you said?).

I’ve got a CG 2x10 combo now. So stoked for the ZW Jr. Always wanted a Train Wreck and a Z Wreck but both are waaaay beyond my budget.

I love my Ghia, but am a bit worried there'd be too much overlap with the ZW Jr. to have it make sense to own both.
