So I've always loved the tone of my Therapy but at the same time I've always yearned for a little more presence in the top end. A little more sparkle. I've tried a ton of speakers; 2X10 (Z-10 speakers), 1X12 Gold, G12H30, Vintage 30, EVM-12L, Z-12, ET-65. All different but not quite 'there'...
Then I tried a Greenback and I really, really like it. I expected the Greenback to mellow out the top end, but somehow it brought the sparkle out of the Therapy. Sounds really good! The thing is that the speaker is only 20 watts. I'll have to load a 2x12 with them and try it out, but I had to tell you about this. I never even tried the Greenback because I've always matched them up with brighter sounding amps. It's an amazing combination.

A greenback huh? I wouldn't have expected it to bring out some sparkle either. You have to really roll the mids back to get that "blackface" kinda sparkle on the Therapy. I like to use my Therapy as my Rock amp, but I'm eyeing that CAZ-45 with that higher gain with that similar Therapy sound.

That's what use for my Therapy but mine is the Heritage 55Hz. I love it and while it's counterintuitive, never hurts to try weird things.

It sounds like it's gonna bring out the best of everything Z.

I have the MojoTone Greenback currently and I was surprised at the similar finding I had with the Maz 18. I thought the G12H it came with in the 112 sounded really nice until I swapped it out. I ended up moving on from my Therapy for the reason you mentioned. At the time I had a Z 210 and a Mesa with EVM-12L at the time and it was always just missing "it".

This is really weird but I did try a pair of Greenbacks in a open back 2x12 and they don't sound as good as the single 1x12 Greenback loaded cab does. They sound duller somehow, not as crisp. They're exactly the same speakers, only 1 is 8 ohm and the 2x12 cab has 16 ohm speakers wired in parallel. It's a bummer since the Therapy will eventually smoke the 20 watt Greenie.
I guess it's back to the 2x10 cab and KT-77's. That makes a great sounding combination.

I'll have to check each speaker separately. One might be bad and I've never run them apart.
The good news is how great the Therapy sounds with the 2x10 and KT-77's. What a great amp.
