Recently sold my Tone King Sky King...my Z-Plus is just too good, and I’ve got the TK Falcon Grande also. I’m really considering adding in the Z-Wreck combo just for a little more volume for gigging. I think I might regret it due to a lack of EQ boost pedal... Thoughts?

Talk you out of it? Yea right! We all live vicariously through each other's purchases and acquisitions.

I have the Zlux, the Wreck, and the DB4 and had the Remedy. Two amps with the EQ boost and two amps without them. I don't miss the EQ boost when I'm playing the Wreck or the DB4 and I love it when I'm playing the Zlux. I have a clean boost at the end of my board no matter what..

Well, I’ve been thinking, and I’ve found that for me, having an amp with the EQ boost is necessary. I use it constantly with my Z-Plus. At home, it’s always on. The band that I gig with every once in awhile, it provides so much versatility. I can play the cleaner, low volume stuff with the boost off, everything else with the boost on, plus pedals when needed. It’s perfect for the tunes we do that aren’t too heavy and aren’t too light. And I feel like I’m getting more of the True Tone from the amp vs pedals (in my mind, anyway). I’ve been wanting a wreck for so long, but it’s more of a want than a need. There is a Maz 38R at my local shop that I had been plugging into every time I go in there, and I spent a lot of time with it when shopping for my Gibson R8. Seriously considering ordering a head/cab version and be done with it. Still planning to get an extension cab for my Z-Plus though. Debating between the cream back and Z-12 speaker. Currently have a blue in the amp.

FWIW, I have Z-Plus with the Z-12. I am more than satisfied, more like thrilled, with the sound of the Z-Plus and Z-12. So I think the blue and Z-12 would be an ideal match.

DC here!
I have the Route66 and the Z-Wreck combo (blue tolex model) I cant imagine anyone beeing dissatiesfied with the Z-Wreck. I do recommend the BrakeLite installed in in it to tame the overall volume when needed.
