I’m trying to thin out my gear, and I’m way into using combos now. I have both a Remedy and a Therapy head, both are which are superb, but neither of which gets much use of late, and they both overlap to a certain degree in my mind in terms of MV excellence, usage and tone.
If you could keep just one, which would it be?

ima post this query over in the Therapy section, too.

I’d strongly consider keeping the Therapy if for no other reason than being able to switch the tubes between 6L6, 6v6, KT77 and EL34. You get a pretty wide variety of tone that way - before you even start messing with the great tone stack and MV.
*Edited to correct EL84 to EL34

I have a Therapy and a friend has a pre MV Remedy with a Z attenuator. No contest, I would choose the Therapy for its flexibility and tone but I have to admit I've spent a lot more time with the Therapy. The Remedy with the Gold 1x12 cab just never did it for me.

Good gawd amighty! I’d forgotten all about the option to swap tubes in the Therapy, have never tried it! I see some geeking coming on!
Guess putting one of these heads up for market will have to wait a bit!

I have both. The Remedy is born for humbucker style pickups, to get that great grind and drive. It's pretty good with single coils. Mine was retrofitted by the factory and has the master volume and bypass. Since I play mostly a PRS McCarty and Les Paul the Remedy gets all the gigs lately. The half power switch and master volume work great and I can cover most volume requirements.
The Therapy is fantastic with single coil pickups and is more versatile than the Remedy. Tube rectifier gives much more compression and dynamics with pick attack. Put in EL 34's and you can get close to what the Remedy can do but it will be at a higher volume. 6V6's make it more tweedy and less volume. I think the Therapy tone is more variable with speaker changes.

I was not aware that there were so many options for power tubes in the therapy. Haven't seen this info anywhere on the Dr Z site.

Remedy! MV and Tone stack bypass, add a BrakeLite and you have a great sounding amp with a good amount of control on the volume side. ME
