I know george L's are sort of scoffed at but I never had any problems with them. I switched over to Lava cables (MUCH harder to assemble) and have had nothing but problems with them. I'm currently on the search for which one is shorting out sporadically. I'm thinking about switching over to soldered patch cables. So what are you guys using?

I’m using PCNS as well. I’ve never had any issues with them and they sound great!

I still use George L all the time and have never had an issue. The real upside is being able to easily customize a length or connector type (straight or right angle) for the pedalboard.

The ONLY patch cables I've ever had a problem with were the ones that were soldered by a friend. This year I went through a major issue on my board and it ended up being those cables. 15 years ago, I bought several Monster patch cables and they've taken a beating and keep on going. They've been on my boards that long! But I've also used Rapco's Road Hogs, which seem to be indestructible. My main issue with these store bought ones is finding the right size, as in not too long, but they all seem to work well and last.

PCNS are great. Also, I've had great luck with Dimarzio patch cables. Tried the EBS flat cables, which are great in theory for tight spaces, but found they had a pretty significant failure rate, unfortunately.

I'm trying the Rockboard/Warwick flat cables. So far so good although the long body of the jack made it sometimes a challenge. I too never had an issue with a George L's failing on a gig. I've watched a few videos though that convinced me to go soldered. The Rockboards are relatively inexpensive (I rewired my entire board for less than 60 bucks and I use a 3 button looper).
I'm also interested in Todd's new pedalboard cables.

Todd and Patty at PCNS make superior cables, they're very well made and use top shelf components. As far as non-soldered cables go, my thought is that they are an accident waiting to happen. They'll eventually oxidize and develop resistance or fail outright; a well soldered a joint is solid for many years.
