Haven’t been on the forum for a month or two, and now reading all this Nova trill .......... dang. Need some guidance here ! I need to get rid of amps, not buy a new one! My house is overrun with gear. There are amps in every room but the kitchen and bathrooms. The idea of blendable clean and overdrive channels plus a master and a presence knob ..... kinda too much to ignore. I’ve never liked Fuzz/OD/distortion pedals! So the way you guys talk, this Nova sounds like my main gig amp! 36 lb combo? Hellyeah. Guitar straight into amp + tuner + Flint? Hellyeah. No brake and effects loop (though I’ve never used one!)? Hellyeah. My main gig amp has been the Wreck combo, but 53 lbs and reaching around the back to twiddle the brake - I like the sound of the convenience of the NOVA!
I would need to let go of a couple amps to make a Nova feasible, though. ? DB4? 1-10 Ghia? My brothers (attn: Mikey G, Benttop Steve!), what say you? If you could only have one, would it be the DB4 or the Nova?
now in decision dilemma mode.

I haven't owned a DB4 but I have had a Wreck and a 1-10 Ghia. The main difference to me is the Nova is firmly based in the "Tweed" camp. The OD channel in the Nova is fabulous and from what I've read here most of us leave it always-on and use the GV to go from cleanish to dirt.
I can't endorse selling any gear that you really like (when I do that it seems like I end up re-buying it!), but I can give a big thumbs-up to the Nova.

I bought one from Sweetwater and the day it shipped out, my friend offered to trade me his DB4 for my Remedy that I wasn't using. I gigged the Nova three time and ultimately sent it back to SW. Not because I didn't love the amp, because I did. I was going to sell my Remedy to offset some of the cost of the Nova, but when I traded the Remedy, I had to make a decision: Sell the Wreck or return the Nova? I returned the Nova, but I know I'll own one again. It's got everything: Great tone, it's versatile, great MV, perfect for my style of country and rock. The combo is lightweight and looks bitchin!
Now I have the Wreck, Lux and DB4 in my rotation and the DB4 get's the call far more than the Wreck.

jj, for me and my gigs, it's Nova over the DB4. Not a knock on the latter, but my DB4 is a head, so I have to bring a cab and, given the tone I like, an Air Brake to use the amp at a gig. I have room (barely) to keep both, so that's my plan. Hadn't thought about an amp in kitchen or bathroom, but now that you brought it up ...

I can't recommend any Z amps to get rid of, but I can certainly really, really recommend a Nova! I dig mine.

I cant help either! Id love to try a Nova! But I have a Z wreck, zmaster, zlux and a Cure. And a Super Reverb.
I seriously cant buy any more amps, unless I mysteriously become a full time guitarist/musician. Im trying to sell the Super Reverb, but I dont have too. Its almost like I feel crowded in by too much gear! I only plan on buying a couple brake lites and thats it. But I still would like to hear the Nova in person!
