I sat my iPhone 7 on top of the Nova to shoot this, so I imagine it was a bit loud to the mic in the phone, but it seems to have worked well enough.
This is the Firebird into the Nova with all knobs at noon except the master, which was at 9 o'clock. I have the HX Stomp in the loop providing a very slight amount of reverb. I was just getting off on the neck pickup tones through the Nova and lost track of time.

Sounds great, Steve. That's one of my favorite combinations ever. I had my Firebird with me at Z-Fest 2018, and when I plugged it into the Nova it was love at first note. There's a video of the jam floating around here somewhere, one of me with Shannon and Russell, but after that I passed my Firebird to Buddy Whittington and he tore it up with Jason and Ed. I went over to Doc at the bar and placed my order on the spot.
I grinned at BW when he handed it back and said, "I'll never wipe this guitar off again!" And he said, "I'd take it out back and hose it off right now!"
Nova + Firebird = perfect tone.

Excellent Steve. A match made in Blues Heaven. Thanks for sharing. Z You're welcome, and thanks for a great amp! Still figuring out what I can do here with it, but I think the bond is going to be long and deep.

I always thought Firebirds never got much respect. I had two over the years, a non reverse P-90 and a ‘76 reverse. When Dave played his Firebird at 2018 Z Fest, I remember saying to everyone sitting at our table, “ That Firebird sounds great!” Keep on keepin’ on! As always YMMV!

Sounds great Steve! The Nova is such a dynamic amp to the picking touch as evidenced here.

Steve, it's too bad we're 2K miles apart, I'd love to hear our Novas and Firebirds together, would that be fun or what?!?

There's a whole industry with backing tracks that you can play a lead over. You might be able to start a wave with lead tracks that a live rhythm section could play behind. Dig the grind and sustain that you're getting! Nice!

I'm late to the party to say that how great this sounds, but it's they type of playing that I bought my Nova for.

That's some tweedy goodness right there! Don't have a Firebird but am really looking forward to getting my Nova early next week. I have a tweed Harvard clone, which I use with a Bake-Lite with stellar results, and was looking for a Super/Bandmaster type amp. Had thought about Z-master until I found out about the Nova. I dig the 3-10 thing but thought the MV & channel switching might be more practical for me. Plus 6 lbs lighter and about $600 cheaper! Your clip is inspiring. Thanks
