I had the spare parts lying around so I built this this morning. I switched out the switch with a DPDT switch, added the light and a DC plug for power. Works great!

I need that! I’m constantly switching back and forth from a Boss FS-5L that has a light and my variable Z-Amp switch.

I need that! I’m constantly switching back and forth from a Boss FS-5L that has a light and my variable Z-Amp switch. It's REALLY easy to do. I found the schematic for it somewhere here on the board. I'll find it if you need it. The schematic was for a complete new pedal but I thought "Why build a new pedal instead of transforming the Dr. Z Variable boost I already have." The schematic was perfect and it took 30 minutes to do. You do have to have some basic soldering skills but not much!
You'll need a DPDT footswitch A light diode and housing A DC plug
And the tools and that it!

Great fix, can't tell you how often I forget whether the bypass is on or off. I keep the volumes very close.
