Between this post and some other memories I pulled the trigger on the big old MXR yesterday. When the Rolling Stones Emotional Rescue record came out is the same summer ('80) I got my first Telecaster. I was playing in a pretty heavy band at the time. The guitar really opened my mind. This song in particular. I was on tour and I had a cassette and I kept rewinding it over and over. I found out the MXR was what Keith was using. He still uses it. I had one. It got stolen. Excited to get it back! That's fantastic. I'd buy one of those if I stumbled across one. Similarly, I've always like the sister to this pedal (the old MXR 117 Flanger) and have always been tempted to pick one up. May have to put it on my list. Nothing sexier than a pedal with its own power cord ! I have the old gray MXR 117. It's without a doubt the best sounding flanger I've ever heard, and I've owned a BUNCH of em! I know this analog delay sounds great as well.

Well, thanks to Helmi there's an older Wampler Faux tape Echo on its way to Canada to add to the collection However, this is an older pedal that is on my radar now. Think I'll have to track one down.

I also bought this one before the World fell apart. Haven't tried it much yet. Is it weird? Yes. However, any delay pedal that comes in salmon pink is a must buy...so I did.

Is the Analogman delay pedal noisy when engaged??? Absolutely not. I can't praise it too highly. The best analog delay I have heard. The Boss Wazacraft DM-2 and JHS Panther should be on your list also. I'm told the JHS Cub sounds just as good as the Panther but I have not heard it.

...and yet another vote for analog (Man)! I go back to the days of the Echoplex and was certain that Mr. Fuller hit one out of the park with he put a DC motor into the TTE. I have one but it never runs the entire gig...so I only use it in the studio. For live work I've tried several digital but "sounds" analog pedals but when the ARDX20/Amaze1 combo landed on the pedalboard I haven't looked back. Everyone needs a reliable, analog delay with tap tempo and modulation on their board!

Well, compliments of the Buy, Sell & Trade section this beauty made its way from Ohio to Eastern Canada through all the (expected) COVID-19 delays! Thanks Helmi, the pedal looks fantastic. Another one for the collection.

I know I'm a little late to the party but the HBE Mimic Mock II is a pretty simple but cool delay pedal. It's an all analog, bucket brigade delay. I had it for a while and enjoyed it. I sold it off when I had to sell off a bunch of gear a few years ago. I will try to get it again here in the near future. HBE is no longer around but you can still find the pedals out there on the used market. The Mimic you can usually find in the 150 - 200 buck range. But it's a simple 3 knob delay.

I've been happy with the TC Flashback series. I've got the X4 and a couple of the smaller pedals. They all have the Toneprint feature which is pretty cool. I know you said you don't want to go the vintage route, but I really love the vintage Echoplex EP-3 a friend gifted me with last year. It's the best sounding delay I've ever played. I have had the El Capistan for years and recently bought the dunlop Echoplex and really liked it but it didn't like my fuzz. Whenever I put my fuzz on the dunlop sounded shrill. So I ended up selling it and getting the flashback 2 and I am very happy with it. I downloaded the Echoplex tone print that Andy from pro guitar shop did for it and I have to be honest it sounds better then that dunlop Echoplex I had. Plus my fuzz sounds awesome with it. The Flashback series is def a bang for the buck option plus you get a looper with it to.

Don't know about that but I have it on all of the time and like it. Maybe that, or something like it, is what you need.

I got a small board now and I am actually really happy with the flash back its simple and it sounds great. I actually have a white lovepedal t chula that I use to boost everything its like a always on pedal its very dynamic. Anyway I use that to boost the delay and it works very well for that application. Thank you though.

The Meris Polymoon is killing me right now. It basically does a million variations on one thing (modulated delay). A bit pricey, but that SOUND!

Definitely think you need a TC Plethora X5, which can run up to 4 delays at a time—from mild to wild!

...and (surprised nobody's mentioned these), it'd be criminal to miss these classics: Ibanez AD9 Boss DM-2 Boss DD-3 Electro-Harmonix Memory Man (whichever one of them is "the" one) I've actually been looking for a DD-2. I can get a minty one but at US$300 (approx.) I passed The Waza DM-2W is on the short list (lol..can't buy them all at the same time!) One point I should have mentioned earlier, I have both an original DM-3 and the DM-2w. I prefer the waza craft. It has all of the cool vibe factor of the original, plus more than double the delay time and less noise.

Wasn’t impressed with delay llama xtreme. El cap and mljr were better for me and my tastes. Regular delay llama was good. Was using for slap back, but since moved it on

I recently picked up an Xvive Echoman, which is a stripped down Deluxe Memory Man in a mini-pedal. I dig it, especially for the price (it was $100 when I bought it, but it seems they upped the price to $150 afterwards). Only bummer is that the modulation has very limited control. The chorus mode has a fast speed and the vibrato has a slow speed, kinda wish they were flipped.
