I bought a Cure a few months back but had yet to put it to the test in a live band situation, outdoors and with volume. I was diggin' it. We did three 45 minute sets, and the 1st guitar I used was my PRS Hollowbody. It was good, OK, but not what I had hoped for. So, I grabbed my G&L Legacy loaded with Landau pickups, and this pairing just rocked. All five pickup selections sound killer, but the neck pup had punchy authority. I used my Tim or J Rockett Animal to add OD and it was outstanding - it made me feel young again! I had contemplated putting a different speaker in, but after playing the amp loud that speaker will stay where it's at! All that to say - I made a wise purchase!

It’s a great amp. You wouldn’t think that a 15 watt amp would make it in an outside gig, but it’s surprising just how loud the Cure can get!

I am continually surprised by the Cure. It's a potent little package! I'm thinking about using it at an outdoor gig next week, but the 'Wreck will probably get the call.

You know, any more for variety jobs I take my Cure and CS336 and a small board (comp/od/mod/delay/boost) or for “rockier” jobs my Maz18NRmkII with Mesa 1x12 open back cab, a Guild BluesBird, Tele and a little bit bigger board, mike them with a Sennheiser 609, and I’m done.

I've don't think I've had a gig yet that I couldn't cover with the Cure, and I don't think I've ever gotten the Level control above 12:00. Z amps have a way of cutting through the mix so sweetly yet powerfully, and I think that's their best common quality. I have yet to have one run out of gas onstage.

I gigged my Cure on the 3rd at a loud sports bar. It was excellent. What a great amp.

We've got three outdoor gigs coming up--the first will be next to the pool at our university chancellor's house (yes, he has a pool--in northern Wisconsin), which will be a relatively low-volume fundraiser for a local arts non-profit. The second will be on the deck of the Beechmoor, which is a little bar/grill up on our lake, which should be a lot of fun and also won't require excessive volume. I'll definitely be using the Cure for both of those shows--I think it'll be an excellent fit, and I'm confident it will sound great with whatever guitars/pedals I throw at it. And it'll come along as the backup when we play a block party in St. Paul in September--for that one, which will happen in a large open area with a noise permit in hand, I'll be running the Lux at 40 watts.
