hello all!! i am sending from Athens Greece and iam just purchased a dr-z therapy and iam in love with the amp . the cleans and the pushed tones that provides is what i was looking for. i want to ask some questions to all therapy users here.iam playing in a prog rock/heavy band and iam lookin for some pedals overdrives /distortion/preamp that you have checked with the therapy and worked great for some more heavy stuff for nice saturation and lead sounds. thank you very much if you have found pedals that works well with the amp you are welcome to save me from extra money and time!

The Therapy is a fantastic amp. I found that it really responded well to pedals like the Keely Oxblood, a higher gain Distortion/Od. i would think that it would respond well to a pedal like the Revv3 or something more gothic. Let us know how it goes

It loves just about anything you throw at it. I use it for really heavy stuff (Stoner/Doom) with a Verellen Skyhammer/Meatsmoke preamp and it just KILLS. It loves fuzz as well. The Therapy seems voiced in a way that passes a wide frequency band to the power section, making it great for down-tuned, heavy riffing as the low end is not rolled off.

I have a LOT of pedals and my Therapy sounds best to me with a Klon clone or Barber Direct Drive Super Sport.

Thank you very much all for your answers,i took the therapy second hand like new here in greece and it came from italy 440hz store. before the therapy i had an orange rockerverb 50 and one day i played the therapy and i said "wait a minute, this is a real amp it responses ,it plays ,its like an instrument"and said ok know i get it rockerverb is kind of childish amp its time to go to a real amp..so i sold the rockerverb and took the drz.i have a klon clone that plays very good with the therapy and i have the bax bangeetar an orange pre amp that i dont like very much....so iam trying to find something to replace it.not all pedals play good in all amps you have the job to find what plays well with your amp ..and iam looking something to make the therapy when i want to into a plexish style a hot rodded plexi thing so i ahave the both worlds with an amp..when i do its done...

I don't use many pedals. I use a Tumnus Deluxe (Klon clone) with the Therapy with pretty good results when I need a little "extra".

Take a look at the Carl Martin Panama pedal. That pedal would be enormous with the Therapy

If you want your Therapy to shift into the Marshall camp more, put in EL34s. Want more of a Van Halen Marshall sound, put in 6CA7s. I like the EL34s better than the 6L6s. The 6CA7s are like the child of an EL34 and 6L6. With the Therapy, you just plug them in and play.

Any particular brand you favor? Is it a fairly noticeable change? It would be great to pull a Plexi-ish vibe out of it.

I used JJs simply because I had a set sitting around. I am happy with them. To me the change was noticeable. A little less and looser lows, more mids and more upper mids than lower in that increase, which softened the highs or maybe just changed their character.

With EL34s, bass very low (9:00 or less), MV dimed, mids near dimed, treble at 3:00+, I think you have very good Marshall grind (depending on where you out the Vol for the dirt).
