I'm think I'm going to convert my Maz Jr w/reverb combo, to a head.... I'm actually just swapping my Stingray into the combo cab, and the Maz into the head cab (and swapping speakers). The Ray was originally a combo, so I have the faceplate already, and the Maz faceplate should be reversible.
But, where the heck to you put the reverb tank in the Maz Jr head?? Is it attached to the inside of the front valance?
Reason I'm swapping is my Maz is being used more than the Ray lately and with my back issues, it's easier moving a head and cab around (since my combo is the old-school, heavier cab).
Thanks in advance.

I'd say it's on the valance.

Since the major problem with a reverb tank in a head is it picking up noise from the transformers I would mount it on the bottom and offset from the transformers as far as possible. That is how I mounted my tank when I converted my JAZ combo to a head and I have not had a problem with noise. I also made sure the open side of the tank is covered with shielding that is grounded to the tank.

So, if using a Maz-style head cab the rear of the valence is e only option, I think.

How is the tank oriented originally? In my MAZ 8 it is mounted on the right side panel vertically when looking at the back, as far from the transformers as possible. I know tanks are labeled what their preferred orientation is but I have changed that many times without a problem. I suppose there might be a long term issue but, again, I have not experienced any.

Got it converted over the weekend!
Had to experiment with the tank placement/orientation to get no hummmm.

Also a worthy note..... When you convert the head to a combo, or combo to a head......You'll need to make sure you physically swap the "Hi" and "Low" inputs inside the chassis (Hi is always on top). There is enough slack to do this, just be careful not to pull to hard or touch any internal components I didn't do this at first, and for about a half a second, I almost left it like this....But, my OCD wouldn't allow this it.

Is the input or output nearest the power transformer? Curious minds... So, looking at the the back of the head.... It would be on the upper left of the inside of the front Valance (the side farthest away from that big transformer). But, if you have it orientated with the jacks on the top....It will hum, really bad as you turn up the reverb. The jacks need to face down towards the chassis. Oh, and the back plate will be upside down.....No biggie, my OCD is fine with that (the black, rectangle box with the black & white sticker on it) <iframe width="13.799999999999955" height="8.199999999999989" style="position: absolute; width: 13.8px; height: 8.2px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 5px; top: 443px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_92952198" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="13.799999999999955" height="8.199999999999989" style="position: absolute; width: 13.8px; height: 8.2px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 630px; top: 443px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_15508985" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="13.799999999999955" height="8.199999999999989" style="position: absolute; width: 13.8px; height: 8.2px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 5px; top: 794px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_14494346" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="13.799999999999955" height="8.199999999999989" style="position: absolute; width: 13.8px; height: 8.2px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 630px; top: 794px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_68764873" scrolling="no"></iframe>
