I have never heard of any of the members using a copper cap as a rectifier. Most of the guys were going for NOS rectifiers and not looking at Solid State. I have two Copper Caps in my stock and every time I go to use it something gets too hot, so I don't even try anymore. I am sure thee are exceptions but I don't recall the topic.

I bought a copper Cap years ago when I had a Maz38 combo. I read that Buddy Whittington use one in his 38 while touring in the UK (reliability reasons). As I recall I got the info from the Weber website - but that was when Ted was running the show. A phone call or email to Weber should get your question answered.
