I am currently using a Strymon Mobius, but today I found a great deal on a CBA Warped Vinyl Mkii that I couldn’t pass up. So the board expands... maybe?
First question: Who is using CBA pedals and what are your thoughts? I had the Gravitas at one time, but went back to my Flint. It was likely user error because I didn’t take the time to learn the pedal. I generally don’t like taking time to learn pedals. If they require a lot of attention to dial in useful tones/sounds, then I find myself not using them.
Second question: Who is using a Strymon Mobius and what are your thoughts on it? Did you start with digital modulation or did you switch to the Mobius to save space on your board? While I am not super impressed with the engines, there’s something attractive about having so many options and presets. The Mobius has been “good enough” since I’m not a big fan of modulation.

I have Strymon and they are go-tos for almost everything. I leave their Mobius alone mostly (more overhead,) but I use the Flint a lot, because it’s simple and you can just get that sound you want- kind of like a good amp tremolo. On a whim, I bought a Warped Vinyl and it seems to do whacked-out stuff better. As a person that plays/records stereo or in 3-channel, its kind of nice to use a rotary effect with one channel using a trem/vib. It can be dizzying to the listener, but screw those guys. Seriously, my goal is to create space inside and below the volume of the rest of the music and this is a way I can do that. The WV adds some possibility to the pallet- I’m not actually sure how much crossover there is in the Mobius.

It’s good to hear that you dig the Warped Vinyl. I have both the Warped Vinyl (on the way) and the Mobius. I always try to keep as few digital pedals as possible, but the Flint has been the best Reverb/trem pedal I’ve owned so it keeps winning out.

I have the Tonal Recall and love it. CBA sound great out the box but their is potential for tweaking.

We need to get some more love here for Chase Bliss. He’s know many are here because they appreciate companies making great gear with solid values. Chase Bliss is that sort of company.
Some videos had me scared of their pedal. Frankly as much as I love Andy’s gear reviews going way back before his Reverb days I’m not sure he’s really doing CB stuff justice.
I got the Dark World double reverb and it’s amazing. I agree about not wanting to have big learning curves on pedals, but just try a few of the settings suggested in the manual. This pedal is unique, beautiful, and inspiring.
I also found a couple reviews that showed me better settings for the Mood so I have one on the way. Excited to see what I can pull specifically with the delay setting.

I think it really comes down to how you prefer to interact with your pedals. I don't like screens and banks so I tend to not go for those big box Strymon pedals. I've got the Tonal Recall and it's an excellent pedal. I like the small form factor and the ability to get something simple from it or go wild. Yes, I did sit down with it and the manual for about 30 minutes but that's all it took for me and my needs. I also wanted an analog because sometimes I'll run wet/dry and don't want the latency from digital pedals.
