Aloha!
I've had my Remedy (with PMV and TS bypass) for over 1 year and only now have I had a really opportunity to use it consistently with a band . First off.. the tone is absolutely OUTSTANDING for all of the tones that I need!
I bought it because I thought that I was going to be playing blues in all it's delicious forms in higher volume band situations.
That didn't actually pan out yet.. mostly it was blues at a lower volume and I used other amps.
However now I am in two bands where I play: 1. country-style blues 2. Classic-type rock with material ranging from: Savoy Brown to Atlanta Rhythm Section, Allman Brothers, Tom Petty, CCR, Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, Stevie Wonder, etc.
I though that I was going to become Peter Green or Paul Kossof --those kinda heavy Plexi, cranked dual-Showman tone.
Instead I need pristine cleans with harmonics and roundness. I totally get that with the Remedy with the Hi blend around 9-10 o'clock and the Low blend no higher than 7:30. Sometimes I have the Hi-blend at noon or beyond, but it often doesn't stay there, and I have to adjust the master volume. Btw..amazing how much clean headroom you can get from a Remedy..especially in 40-watt mode! (that's one of other reasons that I got it -- great blackface or tweed-ish cleans!). I generally have the Bass at around 10-11:00, middle and treble 1-2:00
So now I'm in a situation where in need the foundation tone of relatively clean or edge-of breakup clean-ish..and then add gain via pedals.
This amp has many great capabilities but because it is single-channel , you're stuck with that unless you can fiddle with the settings between tunes. I can't be doing that.
Other folks use this amp for less than hi-gain/cranked-Plexi guitar tone applications?
If so, what do you play and what appox are you settings during the gig?
So for gain stages (pedals) I use an Xotic EP booster all the time on low all the time. (sometimes I give the knob a twist if I need more volume and fattness). For added crunch and sizzle for low-gain solos I've been using a JHS modded EHX Soul Food (Klon clone) at noon or beyond and for hi-gain solos I've been using a Suhr Roit (clone) distortion pedal. I've always got reverb and delay happening and often tremolo too.

What pedals do you like/use to add gain to your sound?
Mahalo folks!
