Just because there's not been activity here for a spell and I wanted to see something else at the top of the thread list, I wanted to reiterate how fabulous my Z-Lux sounds and relate a short story. I got a call for a last minute, fill-in 4 hour gig (gettin' old for that!) this past Sunday. During a set break, the husband of a visiting couple at the club came up to me and asked "what IS THAT AMP!?", obviously digging it. I gave him the whole rig rundown ('51 Nocaster, Colossal Sweet Fat cable, Z-Lux), mentioning my choice in 5881 power tubes, etc. I even wrote down the www.drzamps.com website, and told him what a great community we have here on the boards, etc. Maybe he'll pick one up, maybe not, but one more guitar nerd now knows the glory of a nicely cranked Z-Lux! Hope everyone is well.

It is my favorite amp too. I took mine to practice last time and it really sang.

It is such a great sounding amp and it is so versatile. You can use it on any size stage and any room. I love the amp too. I have to decide between the Lux and the Wreck for every gig and it is a hard choice.

Part of me wanted to get a blonde Z-Lux to match my Z-Plus late last year prior to the colours being discontinued. I think this is another amp I'd only ever want in combo form as well

It will absolutely fill up a medium sized venue or, like my gig this Friday, come down to "musical wallpaper" levels and still sound great.

I was at my old Z dealer today. I spoke to the guy there and said if they had a blonde combo in their system I'd take it ( it's Long & McQuade so they have a national network and a chance of having old stock).
Unfortunately they only had a black one in their warehouse 😒
If if they had a blonde today I would have bought it.

I played a "musical wallpaper" gig last night, and the sound person was most complimentary on the Z-Lux's ability to maintain a low volume, but still sound fat and musical.

I am amazed with the sound of my Z-Lux. So far I have been able to dial great sounds with any guitar I've plugged in.

I’m still liking mine. I just bought a Z Wreck and trying it out this weekend. I’m hoping I will like it as much as the Z Lux.

I took the Zlux out to a concert in the park gig last night. I've been using my Wreck for the last 4 months. I had two people come up at the show and compliment my tone. One was a female singer who was just super impressed with it. She was there with her husband, a drummer. And she went on and on about how ballsy and killer the tone was. That made me smile! The other guy, unrelated, was a guitar player. He wanted to know what kind of Zenith amp I was playing because he loved the tone so much. I told him, "it's a Dr. Z Zlux!" "Man I play a Mesa and I can't make it sound that good" he said! That was great too. I love both amps, but I think I'll be switching back to the Lux as my main amp, simply because it is so versatile with the 1/2 power and the Master. Plus I love the verb and Trem!

I still regret selling mine. You did try to warn a brother though. The Z-Master has helped my regret in a huge way though. Still that Z-Lux and the Z-Master would be the perfect combination for me. The Z-Lux is most def one of Doc's finest amps no question about it.

Randy, you do realize the Z Lux, Z master combination has been Joe Walsh's stage setup with the Eagles for the past year. You are right it is a wonderful sonic combination.
