Has anybody mounted one in a Z cab? Do the screw holes line up? I'm talking about the modern EVM 12L classic.
Thanks!
Also, I have an EV force from the 80s. It is only 150 watts while the new classic EVM 12L is 200- would these speakers make a good pair in a 212 cab or will the 12L overpower the force?

The wattage has nothing to do with the volume. It's the sensitivity rating that tells you which will be louder with a given signal level. My guess is if the new EVM 12L is the same as the original, they should match up fine. Be sure and buy a crane to lift it, if you put them both in a 212. Had a Twin with a pair of EVM 12Ls in it back in the 80s. If anyone asked to help load in of out. That was the one they got.

Got it.
Have you ever installed one in a Z cab? My old EV force mounts perfectly to my Z 212- but looking at pictures of the new 12L classic the screw holes appear to be in odd positions.

The originals had the screws in the correct places. I really doubt they wouldn't put them in industry standard places. I have mounted an original one in a 112 combo cab. They fit fine, but I had to get screws that were longer to tighten it down. I got the cab with no screws in it, so it's possible the ones I had in it were not stock length.

Right, I'm using longer screws as well.

I had an original EVM 12L I bought new in 84 and I loved the tone of that 16lb. Magnet monster. When I seen SRV in Missoula just weeks before his passing he had in all amp cabs EVM Speakers both 10's and 12l's. I was leaning on the stage just underneath his boots and could see his rig perfectly.... chey
