I was looking to use some NOS 6v6s in my Zplus. When I hooked up my Weber BiasRite, it showed 50ma at 400volts. When I put the same tubes in a deluxe reverb it shows 22ma at a much lower voltage (I think inbetween 300 and 400 volts, I'd have to check later).
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

i've heard that class a bias can be 100%, whereas fixed bias a/b is usually 60-70%. if that's true, than yes. not sure it would end up twice the value though.

Your Z-PLUS is parallel single-ended Class-A so each tube would only be seeing 25ma. The Deluxe Reverb is Push-Pull Class AB. Different animals. Cathode bias has nothing to do with it. 50ma is good in your Z-PLUS.

Yes, you'll be fine. Doc knows what he's doing. Z-Pilot's right on, cathode bias or fixed bias has nothing to do with how hot the tube runs. That's a function of circuit design. Either one can be raging hot or cold biased, it just depends on how the plate, screen, and cathode resistors are set up.
