I decided to stay with a 2 guitar 1 amp rig, and I saw a beautiful prs sc58 stripped for trade on TGP. Is this a fair trade? Any one have experience with the sc58 stripped with the 57/08 pups? The prs: My suhr:

Anyone else have experience with prs single cuts with a 24.5 inch scale length or the 57/08 pickups?

Sorry, no direct experience with that particular PRS but I've heard those are great pickups. ( Don, did/does your denim-blue PRS have those pickups?). And even though I'm a huge fan of the recent Suhr guitar lineup, even I must say this looks like a good trade for you (at least, value-wise). Granted, if you're not a humbucker guy then you're going to miss that Classic T, however from a market-value perspective I'd think that stripped '58 might carry a few more $$$ than the bolt-on T style. Both great brands and great guitars...

Both great brands and great guitars... I have the DGT model and it comes with “DGT” pups, so I don’t have any experience with any other PRS pups. Although the Suhr guitars that I have played were amazing instruments, I’ve never played a guitar that was better constructed, better sounding, or more comfortable to play than a PRS. It’s my goto guitar now even though I have a roomful of Gibsons and Fenders.

I have 57/08 squabbins in my PRS satin singlecut. wonderful pickups! there's not a whole lot of stripped 58's around.

Pulled the trigger and making the trade. Will ship out the Suhr tomorrow. 10 years ago I let a prs sc245 slip away at a local shop. Some famous guy bought it the next day and I got the guitar that I thought looked second best... the butterscotch blond e 52 AVRI (that I eventually traded for the Suhr). I guess this is me making sure I don’t let another prs single cut go! My gretsch is home and I can make it work for just about any gig. Contemporary Christian to rock and roll with a ton of brightness on tap if needed. The Gretsch is a 24.6 scale guitar so the 24.5 of the prs will be fine. Can’t wait to hear the prs through the z-28. Yikes

What does stripped mean when referencing this guitar?

No neck binding, no rosewood veneer on headstock, no bird inlays, not a “10 top.”
With those options the PRS SC-58 at the time in 2012 was like $3600 or so. The stripped just got rid of bling, but hardware, pickups, etc are all the same.
Paul decided to change the name of his single cuts a few times. Sc245 to sc58, stripped 58, back to sc245, etc etc

Having owned a 52 AVRI and the Suhr tele, I really figured out what I want in a tele. I’ll likely get one in the future, but we’ll see how I bond with the prs. Just looks stunning.

Looks and sounds like you are bonding well It’s a special guitar. These pickups are just sweet. The guitar came strung with 10s but I put 11s and it just sings. Gonna get it professionally set up this week. So far loving it. Nothing seems stripped about this guitar...
