New Amp (+ Cab) Day! This'll be the fourth Z I've owned--second one I currently own (along with a Ghia). Previously owned a Maz 18 Jr NR Combo with a Blue and a Z-Wreck 1x12 Combo (Gold). 2x EL-84 power section, same as the Ghia, but very different tone. Ghia is best when it's aggressive IMO, whereas the Rx Jr shines with its cleans (which the Ghia does not offer as much at higher volumes). Some have described it as percussive. I agree. NOT as percussive as a Z-Wreck in "Speed" mode, but that's a whole different ballpark. Headroom and volume offering is akin to the Maz 18 Jr NR combo I had IIRC, but I can't say for sure because I don't have the Maz anymore. The PPIMV is VERY useful. Started with all controls on noon, but gravitated towards easing the treble back with a Tele--the only guitar I've tested the amp with so far. I do not have a switch yet for the "Overdose" function on the amp yet--that's on the way. The cab is a 2x12 Stang Ray cab I picked up from Canada, eh (obligatory). More tweaking, picking, and cranking to come.

The Rxjr came alive for me once I cranked the mids. Started with my Maz jr settings and they just weren't right for this amp. Here's where I ended up. Bass 9:00 to 10:00 depending on speaker. Mids all the way up. Treble 10:00 to 11:00 depending on guitar and speaker. Took me the longest of any Z amp to bond with, but once I got it dialed in, one of my favorites.
