Posted this in the troubleshooting section but got no replies, so thought it might get some responses here.
I bought my Therapy new last year and don't play it at home. I brought it in today and was playing at low volumes and noticed the volume control, even at its lowest setting lets quite a bit of signal through. The master volume will reduce the output to zero though. Is this normal for the design of the Therapy? I tried a different preamp tube and it made no difference.
I did see a post where someone mentioned the same thing with their Therapy, but wondering if everyone's does this.
Thanks,

Mine is the same way. It's just the way it's designed. Maybe the Doc will give the technical explanation or maybe someone will link a thread where this was discussed before.

Well it has to do with the unique front end of the Therapy. It runs a modified Cascaded V1, that's how it gets its internal gain from a basic Blackface Fender topography. Because of that you get a slight amount of bleed through from the volume pot. With all the things we have to worry about with our rigs, this does seem some what minor, "doc it hurts when I do this , then don't do that." Z

Thanks Doc. Great design BTW. I love the 3D cleans associated with the bigger tweed amps and the Therapy can do that.

That’s explains a great deal to me!

Thanks for the explanation. Never had an amp that did that before and just wanted to make sure all was well with it.
