A while back I posted about needing to reduce the weight of my Maz Jr (for medical reasons). Anyways, I found a fellow who builds PAs who made up these boxes for me. Solid pine - much lighter than the single combo box indeed! The speaker cab is quite resonant as well, bonus. I'm still trying decide what speaker I will end up using. Right now the ET65 is balanced but sometimes a bit buried in the band. I'm considering WGS Reaper, or Vet 30, or maybe G12c/s. I'm more a clean player than all out rocker, so still trying to figure the speaker thing out. Its a bit too tight tucking the cord in the back, so it can just loop up on top...

Nice, real nice. Do you have any problem with noise from the reverb tank being closer to the transformers?. I know that some have noted that with reverb heads. I put a JAZ chassis in a head cab with no problems. I also had a Silverface Fender Dual Showman head with no problems.
For primarily clean playing I have loved a C-Gold for quite a while.

I haven't heard any noise from the reverb tank being close to the transformers. I am gonna try running with the master volume high and gain lower for the heck of it and maybe some reverb noise may show up. Really the only time the reverb seems a bit noisy is when the cut is set high (and treble turned down). I'm still trying to juggle all that stuff. As far as weight, the current head (with chassis in) weighs less than the empty Dr Z box it was all in. The new speaker box is so much lighter, its crazy. I like the sound of the solid pine as well.
I have a WGS Reaper on order, I'll keep y'all posted...

Update - The WGS Reaper arrived. However, it arrived damaged in travel. I contacted WGS and the next day they sent a new one, no hassles at all. Great support! The Reaper is touted as a drop in replacement for the G12h30 70th anni, which is a speaker I took out of the Jr when I first got it. The Reaper is not at all the Celestion. It is fuller, more balanced and all around way way big killer!
