We haven't played much lately, and the few gigs we have done have all been in high-rise hotels, so the convenience/light-weight of the Cure gave it the nod. Last night was at a packed sports bar where we can play fairly loud, so the Nova it was! Paired it with a Mesa 1-12 wide body open back cab. Settings ended up being V-11, OD-9, M-noon, tone stack was mostly between 9-11, Bass being the lowest. Used my '89 Am Std Strat most of the night (the EJ Thinline Strat got the last set). The OD circuit is so good I kept it on most of the night....it only went off when I needed loud clean tone (i.e. Chicago's "Beginnings"). For most everything else, just a rolloff of the GV did the trick quite nicely. THANK YOU DOC! With the OD on, I could engage either the BD-2 (Keeley mod) or the C Martin Plexitone and get a singing solo tone. Fantastic! And it didn't happen without a photo, so here ya go!

That's great, Lou. Coincidentally I just put up a post that has some overlaps with yours. It's a great amp.

Great report Lou, I love my 1x12 (G12H30) combo too. It's so good just straight in, guitar volume only. Mike nails it in his post about gigging the Nova...it's great without pedals (maybe just some delay) and with the Firebird it's a killer sound. Check out the video with BW playing my Firebird at Z-Fest last year, it sounds so, so good. But BW "probably sounds the same on a Squire!"
