Gotta admit I love my PS2 with all my non master amps.
Ive gigged for years with my AirBrake before then but in my opinion its night and day with tactile response with a reactive load. That being said I'll never sell my AirBrake as it still serves a purpose.
What say you
Cheers

I’ve tried both the Brake-Lite and an Ultimate attenuator with both my KT45 and my Z Wreck, and I do prefer the Ultimate with them. With my Maz 18 and my Remedy I’ve used only the BL, and with good results. I’ll never get rid of any of them, but the BL ‘lets out’ less highs and dynamics, IMHO. I love it, but I prefer my Ultimate with the Wreck and KT. Tons of tone!

I used my Brake Lite yesterday with my Z-Wreck combo. It's got a Celestion Gold in it, and I was playing with the church praise band. I had it on Click 3, with the amp's volume control around 10:00 (half power mode), and the amp sounded great. A well designed resistive attenuator is a great asset to me. I've also got a Power Station with an active attenuator and the difference to me between the two is very small.

I've also got a Power Station with an active attenuator and the difference to me between the two is very small. And the price difference is very big. A “re-amp” like the PS is likely “best” from a pure audio standpoint, but it’s a big premium to get that sonic improvement. Comes down to personal cost-benefit analysis. I think if you do live gigs in many different size venues and do recording, investing in a PS makes more sense. Otherwise, I think a Brake Lite works fine, as do the Weber reactive load attenuators.

I have an Air Brake and an ARACOM PRO. I love the way they interact and sound. I do noy feel the need to spend way more money when I love what I have.

So, placing another amplifier between my guitar amp and speaker just has me shouting "No Way!".
However, I would have also said "I'm not recording with any simulator Bull Sh*t!". My UA Ox changed my mind on that for speaker cabs.
So, if I was looking for a little something more, I may give something like the PS2 a try. So far, my Air Brake serves me very well. But, I suppose, old dogs should be willing to try a new trick. You never know. If my bass player stops over my house for a quiet jam, I'm actually considering running my Z into my Ox into my little PA. So, that's pretty doing what I said I wouldn't do in my first line.

I have tried a bunch of attenuators and I will say...It depends. I have a PS2 and a Tone King Ironman. I use the PS2 most of the time but I bring out the Tone King when I need something quick and don't want to drag the heavier PS2. Both give me great tone and I rarely use an overdrive pedal anymore. But I will also say that the Z Air Brake and BrakeLite's are great as well. You can mount the Brakelite right in the cabinet and never forget it.
