Friday I plugged into my Maz 18 NR and was getting a lot of volume drops and humming. After about 5 minutes of looking, tapping, wiggling, and futzing I discovered the problem. The switch on the eq bypass footswitch was loose. Tightened it up and problem solved. Tightened up the chassis screws while I was at it. This can happen with your stomp boxes as well, the pedalboard dance can loosen them up too. Just though I’d share. Cheers!

Thanks Todd for the maintenance reminder.
I have experienced the footswitch nut loosing on Eventide stomp box, periodic checking required. Oh, do not try Loctite, it rendered the footswitch Plunger movement inoperable. The Eventide footswitches are a 3 part assembly, having that understanding after replacing one.

You can use Loctite threadlocker but you need to use the correct type. I'll bet that you were using 242 or 222 and it was applied the the threads before assembly. Then when you screwed the nut on some accidentally got on the plunger and made its way down into the switch. You need to use a "wicking type" threadlocker, Loctite #290. After you have assembled and tightened the switch get a small amount of #290 on the tip of a toothpick and place it on the nut where the threads meet. #290 has low viscosity so capillary action will cause it to be sucked into the threads. Just wipe off any excess and don't let it get where it can get sucked into the switch. You can use #290 other places. I have used it to keep the nut from coming loose on Schaller strap locks. You can use it on Stratocaster bridge screws to lock them after the height has been set. #290 is a low strength threadlocker and you will still be able to loosen the screw/nut when you need to later.
