It's there for a purpose..... Would you remove the fan off your car's engine?

Just for noise purposes trying to record...my vintage AC30 has more tubes and no fan...

Vintage AC 30s are notorious for getting hot and then melting transformers and other components. I had one literally go up in smoke. If it were me, I would put a switch on the fan so I could turn it off temporarily while recording. It's not uncommon for folks to have a fan installed in an AC 30 or have one blowing on it while gigging.

Don't they just unplug?? I'll have to check but I had one that you just disconnected it.

^^^^^^^ As I recall there should be a plastic male/female connector to disconnect it. My Maz 38 combo had one.
