I'm not sure if this is the best board to ask this question, but I thought I would start here in the "Effects" section. I'm thinking about getting another Cure to run with my current one, but I don't want a chorus or delay split. I just want an "always on" splitter that's simple, yet is not signal degrading. What are you all using for this?

I used to run a ABY box ahead of my effects pedals so I could send one signal thru my board and another to a different amp. The switch allowed to use one or the other amp or both.
Hope this helps, Todd

A Morley ABY would be a pretty simple solution. It’s battery powered and has indicator lights. I used one for my two amp setup until I got a Radial Twin City for Father’s Day. It has a ground lift and a polarity switch but is not battery powered.

The Radial Switchbone box is the deal. However if you are running to two identical amps you may only need an inexpensive ABY box with no transformers and such. A Y cable would be better since there are no switches, jacks, or anything else to degrade your signal. Todd at Pro Cables N Sound can hook you up (pun) with that if that's how you decide to go.

Radial seems to be a popular choice. Thanks all. I just looking out into the future for when I may need more than 15 watts. Truth is I've never needed more than 15 Z watts!

Just remember that if you use a passive splitter with no buffer that you'll be lowering the impedance that your guitar 'sees'. This will increase the effect of any cable capacitance in your cables between the amp(s) and the guitar, which is going to make your sound a little darker, less sparkly. A buffered pedal before splitting the signal or an active splitter with a buffer in it will fix that.

That is all true but I have used Y cables and also daisy chained amps (sometimes 3 at once) many times and only needed a small adjustment of the amp's Treble controls to get the sound I needed. The object was not to have the amp(s) sound the same as when running alone as much as it was to have the 2 or 3 amps sound right as a mix. What I noticed most was this though. I could dial in a sound I liked with the guitar's controls on 10. But when I turned down the Volume control on the guitar I lost more highs than normal. It was very apparent. That was due to the change of input impedance the guitar saw I think. I was running direct back then. No pedals. If you have a pedal board of course the guitar is going to see the first pedal instead.

The effect of the guitar volume control was what I was trying to illustrate. Thanks for the clarification.

I have a Wampler Tumnus that has a great buffer, but I like the idea of no pedals with a buffered spliter. My idea was to run one Cure with the Gold and the other Cure with either a Z speaker or a Blue. Either one will make the 2nd amp sound different. The Blue (from my experience in working with it and the Gold) will make the 2nd Cure sound a litter dirtier.
Or, I could just get a Z-Lux and turn the half power switch to FULL. Mission accomplished!

I would get one that has the ground/polarity switch like the Radial. I've found that type of thing to be super useful and safer than the "lift everything after the first amp".
