Hi all, This is my first post in the Z forum (though I am relatively active on the gear page). I just bought my first Dr Z amp, and I decided to go with the Cure. Ive been after a Z for several years, and I when I saw a Cure pop up on reverb for an excellent price I jumped on it. It will be here on Wednesday and I am eventually excited to try it out.
Most amps I have owned ive built myself as I am an electrical engineering student at the University of Florida and I do well with a soldering iron. Ive build Voxs, Marshalls, tweed and blackface fenders, trainwrecks, etc but dr Z seems to have some unique designs.
I really like the idea of the level control, as I mostly play in my bedroom for the moment. This amp will be replacing my vox ac15hw in my stereo rig, which doesn't sound so great at low volume. There is a point on the master volume where the bass and highs just abruptly cut off, and I am hoping the Z will fix this.
I do have one question. The black metal corners on the Cure I picked up are kind of dinged up, is there any place I can buy replacements? Im sure mojotone has some but I don't know if they would fit.
Anyway, im very excited to try my first Dr Z!

Yeah, you've made an excellent choice with the Cure!
I believe I have used the Mojotone corners on a Z cab before but I wouldn't bet my life on it. I'd call and ask them. You'd be surprised at the things the sales guys will dish. They once told me that not only do they build the cabs for Swart amps, but they keep the chassis there and load them and ship them out as necessary! Not earth shattering, but I doubt it was something Michael Swart would have wanted published.

I had no idea mojo made cabs for swart, or any other conpany for that matter. I suppose it makes sense, but still surprised me. Ill give them a call and see what they have to say!

The Cure is great! My ES 339 loves it! Excellent to hear! Do you all think it will pair well with my marshall 2061x build? Its just a 20 watt marshall circuit through a celestion blue 1x12 cab. I was hoping that the marshall would bring some bass and mids and then the Cure would add to the mids and highs. Any thoughts?

It probably will. I have a Therapy which can get "marshally" and the 339 sounds good through it. It's really what you like and what makes you happy!

Welcome to the forum! Lots of great folks here and a ton of knowledge.
The Cure is my main gigging amp, and the Level control is the bomb. Great choice.
As for the corners, call or send an email to the factory. I'm sure they can supply you with what you need.
