Brought my KT-45 combo back into the rotation. Had V30's or Eminence V128's in it for years. It came stock with Celestion 70th G12H30's in it. I had an odd recording issue with the KT-45 & the G12H30's so I put the speakers in a 2x12 cab for the past 10 years.
I put them back in the KT combo and recorded some tracks and can't believe how stupid it was to take those speakers out of the combo. The speakers have more hours on them a decade later. Completely blown away by how amazing the midrange sits. Like a V30 & Greenback had a baby. A wonderful kick arse rock sounding baby..
Could be the marriage between the EL34's and the speakers. Whatever it is the KT is going to the front of the amp rotation in my little world..
Love all my Z amps, the KT is always the one I come back to most..

When I had my 6545 head I loved the KT45 side with all knobs at 2:00 Just a killer sound.

The midrange punch is amazing on the KT45. A Barber LTD in front and there's nothing this amp can't do.. I haven't played thru any of my other amps in a couple months. And there's no need to..

Oh yeah.... When I used my 6545 I used 2 Weber Alnico Thames 12 inch speakers with no doping. Killer combo to my ears.
