I have some Princeton amps that I was playing today, and my favorite one, a Limited Edition '65 Bordeaux Reserve with a 12" Celestion Blue sounded a bit anemic compared to a stock '65 that I have. (I was using the Headbone in the photo so I wouldn't be biased different speakers.) So out of curiosity, I completely swapped every tube and voila! The Bordeaux just came alive with tone. In the future, I'll be purchasing JJ tubes over Groove Tubes! What a difference it made! Now, I'm not tube expert, and not knocking Groove Tubes at all, as they may sound better in an EL34, 6CA7, or KT type amp, but for a 6V6 chassis, the JJs just work better to my ear.

Not too surprised to hear that. The JJ 6v6s really great in fender and fenderish amps.

I stopped using Groove Tubes 10 years ago or more...Right now, JJ's got the market for 6V6 tubes, and their 12AX7s is a great tube too. Lately Electro Harmonix has been putting out some nice 12AX7 tubes too.

JJs are great. I have great results lately with the new Mullard CV4004 and new Tungsol 12ax7. I like mixing those. Great tone and low noise floor. Tungsol V1 Mullard V2 and V3 In non master volume British type amps.
