Has anyone played both the Monza and Nova? I'm curious how the gain compares between the two.
I have listened to the demos online, but would like to get someone's personal experience with both.
I have a Monza non-MV 1x12 combo with Brake-Lite and really like the high-gain sounds I can get from it using any type of guitar/pickups (Teles to LPs).
I mainly play at home and right now my main clean amp is a SF DR (with JJ 6V6's), and for dirt/gain I am partial to my Down Brownie and Monza. The Down Brownie being more controllable with the MV, but different style of gain.
I have OD/distortion pedals, but I prefer the sound of plugging in straight to the amp. Also not a fan of A/B/Y pedals...no matter what they claim, they all seem to lose something in the signal (Fulltone, Radial, Whirlwind, etc.).
I like the idea of channel switching from clean to gain, and the fact that there is a MV on the Nova. If it has enough gain (similar to Monza) this could be my perfect amp!
Thanks! Jon

Hmm, good question. I have both amps.
It probably won't be until the weekend but I'll try and do a comparison.

Nothing sounds like a MONZA... it’s like a Tube Fuzz pedal.
My experience with ABY pedals is different than yours...it’s the buffer in them that I don’t like...Lopmaster makes a nice mini one without buffer.
No experience with the Nova but when I tried replacing my MONZA with a Therapy or other pedals I was sorry.
