I'm a casual fan(fave album-the river)my son is a zealot,so we watched this last night, and it was great. We didn;t love the casual race throughs of some of the tunes, but the stories are great.
SPOILER WARNING!!!!
If your a Bruce fan and haven't seen this yet, don't read anymore!
So,one of the things we liked best was how self deprecating he was,and willing to deflate his own mythology.I won't spoil it for you by regurgitatting dialogue here, but the MAJOR bomb dropped was that his onstage public persona since Born To Run is a caricature loosly based on his image of his father.
Yup,he has been playing a role his entire career.

I'm part way through and really enjoying it. In addition to drawing upon his song catalog, he brings in a lot from his autobiography.

I have been a Springsteen fan since I was 12...so 35 years. This show really grabbed me. I love the intimacy, the honesty and it's a look into the "real" Bruce. I love it. I'll likely watch it again soon. The songs really breathe in this setting too. I'd say it's a favorite of mine.

Saw this live in NYC and it's among the top 3 shows of my life. Watching the Netflix special is just like being there. He's a special man, that Springsteen.
