Does anyone remember the price of the Mini Z Head when it was discontinued?
I believe it was $895.
Anyone know for certain?
I have a WANT TO BUY ad on this forum and would like to add the selling price offer to it.
Thanks for the help!

$800 or $850 for the head, $900 or maybe $950 for the combo. That's what I remember anyway.

Thanks for responding mudman - much appreciated.
Perhaps it was $799 before its retirement?
I'll just go with an $800 shipped offer.

Have you given the mothership a shout to see if they might have any still kicking around?

I know the head was $799 for a time, but I think it did go up slightly toward the end of its existence to either $850 or $900. I’ve never seen a used one go for near that much though, even after it was discontinued. It’s hasnt been gone that long so they are still around. Keep an eye on the GC used site as I see them there from time to time.

Thanks for the tip LBC - will do so.
I'm willing to pay a premium price because I want specific years and colors.

Yeah the specific year is the trouble. If you wanted a black 2016 I know exactly where you could get one asap.

mudman,
Appreciate your opportunity but I have to hold out for a 2010 or 2011 in black and tan.
Thanks again.

Can I ask why you want one of those two years specifically? Does it have to do with the transformer change, which I believe happened in that 2012ish time frame. Just curious....

IN A NUTSHELL:
Starting in early 2012 the piping was changed from bone to white and the Z badge from light cream to a darker cream.
These new colors are still in production.
All my Z's have the earlier colors and I want to stay consistent.
My Wife calls it OCD but I call it my Z-Thing.

Here's a thought - if you expand your search for any of the small chassis heads with the right colors, you can always swap a mini into the head you want. Heck, if you found, say a z28 or Ghia in the right color, you could probably find someone here who'd work a trade deal for the amps while keeping their own cab.
More work, yes, but you'll probably find the cab you want much quicker... There's a Black and Tan 2010 Monza on reverb right now for 740 shipped for instance.

Good suggestion by limenine...on a related note, you’re going to have to be a little careful getting so specific with your shades and colors due to the fact that these small chassis amps, cabinets, and head shells are so swappable. I’ve had two Minis and a Ghia and all three have been installed in and moved between 4+ different cabinets and head shells over the years. I’m just saying don’t assume because you find the amp year you want that the shell it’s installed in is from the same year. You may find a 2010 Mini Z that’s been swapped into a cabinet from a different year. Of course if the seller is the original owner and can verify, you’re good, but otherwise do your detailed homework. I also wouldn’t necessarily trust someone from afar to make judgements on which shade of cream they have unless they have a good reference point. Not implying someone would try to mislead, it’s just a subjective thing. It would be terrible to go on this long quest, pay a premium for something particular, and then possibly end up with exactly the colors you were trying to avoid!

LuckyBlackCat,
I appreciate your cautionary points.
It must fit my description exactly and I will get clarity.
