been using SS amp with Paul Franklin 12" speaker which is an 8 ohm speaker. plugging into 8ohm output of amp. Am I getting full wattage from amp using this output ? I played a gig with it a few weeks ago and had to really crank the amp to be loud enough. maybe it was the room, just checking. I'd rather not use 2x12 but would consider a 4 ohm 15" speaker for more volume. thanks

An 8 Ohm speaker connected to an 8 Ohm output will give you the full wattage available. What would make a difference in volume is the speakers sensitivity rating. A speaker rated at 100 dB will be much louder than one rated 96 dB , for example.
