Well I finally got to test drive my Z-28 combo today. Had it set at 12 on the volume bass at 3 and the treble at 1. What I got was a nice warm fat tone in all of my stratocasters pick ups. I really liked the neck position. This is a great sounding amp and its lightweight. I am real happy I got this amp. Its the tone I been looking for. The Marshall/fender tone is what I like and thats why I like the Vibro King so much it falls in that ballpark. I was actually able to get the Z-28 to sound very similar with those settings. Awesome sounding amp.
Congrats on a great amp! If you can pick up a good NOS 5751 to drop in place of the 12AX7 (if that is what is in there) you will get a bit more clean headroom if you need to crank the amp up louder.
Thanks Steve! I appreciate that advise I’m not sure what’s in it but I think It has the same tubes that Dr Z ships them with according to Bluesman. I bought the amp from him. I really love the tone of this amp. I had. Z-Lux that I sold a year ago and been missing that Z sound. It’s good to be back in the Z club! I really like the Z-28!
Congrats! I've never seen or heard one. I too have a Vibro-king! I love it! That ,and the new EMS should cover the best of both worlds!
Yes you got things covered with those two amps! I do like the Z-28 as far as portability goes it’s lightweight. The Vibro King is heavy! I still gig mine once and a while. But honestly since I got the Z-28 I been using it mostly.
Jaguarguy (Mike): Hey Gary - Joe Walsh used a G12 65 in his Galaxie and it sounds great!

GuitarZ: So, I cranked up the privacy protection on my browsers, facebook, etc. I have to say I miss the music ads and such. I really don't need ads for watches and other random stuff. Maybe the internet knowing me isn't such a bad thing.

GuitarZ: Reminds me of buying my Honda. When they tried to sell me the maintenance package, I said "Is your car not reliable?" Long story short my wife teamed up with the sales lady to buy the maint package. Never again!
