Okay, we talked before about cleaning your pedal board cables and we decided the fall and spring time changes would be a good time to do this.
I cleaned my pedal board last night. I was surprised that when I was done I could see a dirty spot on the cloth I was using. I cleaned about 10 cables and 8 power supply cables.
Unplug all if your cables. Use a lint free cloth and some electronic cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and wipe down the plug ends. While they are still wet plug them in and out of your pedal a couple of times and then wipe them down again.
Do the same thing to your power supply cables, when they get dirty you can get crackling and hiss sounds. Clean 'em up!!
I like to use electronics cleaner because there is usually some conditioner that helps keep the plugs clean and lubricated.
Enjoy your new found tone!
Todd the cable guy!!

I end up changing the board layout usually once a year and that’s when I clean all the connections. I use the DeOxit all the time. It usually does clear any little annoying crackles. 👍

Thanks for the reminder, Todd!
Hey, shouldn't we all be periodically cleaning the Effects Loop's in & out jacks on our MAZ's, as well?

Thanks for the reminder, Todd! Hey, shouldn't we all be periodically cleaning the Effects Loop's in & out jacks on our MAZ's, as well? you know what Mark, your right, should add that to the list. I have heard many a complaints over the years here on the forum about crackles and noise that ended up being fixed by cleaning the effects loop!
