Sorry I’m just now getting back. I did as you said and it fixed the noise. I tightened everything. A lot of the connections were really loose. My treble pot was stripped out and wouldn’t tighten. I thought I was going to still have to send it off to fix that but I went to Lowe’s and bought a thicker nut to go on it. Due to the thickness difference it was able to grab good threads and tighten properly. Back to 100% now. Thanks so much for passing on that info!! That is so good to hear! If you have some stripped threads you can sometimes use a washer or two as well. Good job!! I like to post when things work. Just a matter of time before someone has the same problem! Yeah I called Don and told him about it. He actually suggested removing the washer. He said it wasn’t technically necessary and sometimes that would expose a few more threads to make it work. It was fine for me with the thicker nut on there. The knob still was able to go over it. I decided to leave well enough alone and enjoy my quiet again amp. 😁

Here is the new cable Patty made me next to the stock cable. There in nothing wrong with the stock cable and I am not having a noise issue. I will play around with this tonight just to see if I can hear any difference. If Jester is still having a problem with his amp I am going to mail this out for him to try. Only difference with the new cable is has a slightly different shield design that may help a bit. We'll see. Todd

Hi guys, I played around with the two different sets of cables last night. I dimed the reverb and I am not sure I could hear any difference between reverb off and reverb off with either cable. There is a slight buzz when turned up all the way and it changes slightly between reverb on and reverb off. I'll get this in the mail to Jester and see if it helps his situation. I think keeping the plug ends clean and as previously mentioned making sure all of your pots are tight (Dr Z has a very nice AMA on yearly maintenance that is a really good idea) is probably a great starting point. We'll see how this plays out with someone who has a louder reverb than mine, mine is pretty darn quiet! On a side note, my son (Josh) and I had a good time playing around with the Z Lux and my Sparrow Les Paul!! Todd
