This is a cool new style, I think it might be a keeper.
We'll see

It will be interesting to see how it sounds and how it feels. Wildwood will have Greg demo it I'm sure.

Pretty cool. Wonder how different from a Tele it's going to sound?

The large block inlays on the fretboard??? Not my cup O' tea. Makes it look like a 70's Jazz bass.
--------------------
A slightly tweaked Jazzmaster/Jaguar body with tele pickups. I don't know if that's worthy of a 5 minute 'I-had-a-dream' style video.
Strat pickups on a LP...there, I did it too.
My dislike of the guitar is probably amplified (see what I did there?) by the fact that there's a group of players over a certain age (pre "Nirvana") that can't stand jazzmaster/jaguar guitars.
Sorry to be a drag...

I think it's pretty cool, definitely a smart move by Fender as the Jazz/Jag thing is mighty popular right now with the young'uns. $2K might be a little much for that crowd though.

Not unlike the Nash Telemaster. Which came first?

I like it, not sure I am compelled to my sell my Tele to go out and buy one.
I'll show it to my son's and see what they think . . . . they are part of the post Nirvana crowd ha ha

Didn't catch that. IMO that's a lofty price point for a different looking tele. But then Gibson is guilty of the same. I subscribe to the solid guitars under $1000 club. Maybe I'm a cheap skate, I prefer the term frugal.

It's a Music Man Albert Lee signature with a rounder look.

I played one of these (Meteora) last night. Sorry to report, meh! Tone was meagre in all three positions, and there was nothing noteworthy of the overall feel. The fellow in the shop said he had tried the NAAM show prototype and said it was much heavier than the production model. Anyways, sorry if I bring bad news, but I can think of a lot of other ways to spend 2000+ dollars.
