I ended up cutting in some new saddles for new traditional and been through the hoops trying different options to get the bridge break angle/right same as tuner/nut angle...couldn't live with the studs airborne...so down they go and we ended up it wrapped and I am liking the feel,vibration...
Question...who adjusts there action with capo on 1st fret and then 3/64 treb...5/64 bass side...man that jacks the action...its a les paul not a acoustic...12th fret... no capo...I do use "11's" so wrap is the way...and it is by no means sloppy or loose feeling, just different.

Digs- I prefer my stop tail studs flush with the top but I don't top wrap. I like the string making contact with the bridge both at the saddle and piece itself if they fall that way. Regardless, the string sustain transfers through the parts and the playability is good. I don't care for the marked up tailpiece when top wrapped. http://instagram.com/p/BpNESLvlEtt

Im going to go with wrap for now...if I bolted studs down and had my string height setting...n0-f-in-way it would work...yeah I don't care much for marking up a brand new tail piece myself but I have to get the best of all scenarios.

digs, I set my Gibsons up with the strings open at the nut, not capoed. 4/64the at the high E, 12th fret. 5/64ths for the low E 12th fret. I put a capo at the first fret and set the truss rod for a little under .010" when fretted at the 17th fret and measured around the 6th or 7th fret. That's how I like 'em anyway; I like to be able to get under the strings a little bit for bending.
I go back and forth with over wrapping the bridge. I like the slinkier feel with top wrapping but since I switched over to Faber locking bridges and tailpieces a few years back, I have strung them up the regular way. The Faber tailpiece comes with screws and spacers so you can raise the tailpiece up and still tighten it down so it's locked to the body of the guitar. Love those setups.
