We recently moved across country and I had CME ship my new Z-Plus to the new address, so it was there when I arrived. Haven't played it, but at home. I was recently asked to join a band at church for the Sunday services. (That's a whole other thread). So I'm prepping for the first rehearsal knowing that most of the tunes are calling for acoustic guitar, maybe one tune for electric.
I'm dialing in the Z-Plus for the acoustic guitar ( Doc has a great demo of it with acoustic). I use a K&K Trinity system on a Martin 000-28. Out of the corner of my eye I notice the bypass switch sitting there. It is set just slightly above unity as a general rule. What the heck, I give it a gentle tap and there it was; the full rich sound of that Martin in all its glory beautifully exposed. It sounded good withe tone stack, but in bypass...oh my!
Through the the years I have tried a variety of so-called acoustic guitar amps. They all were either ignored, sold or returned because they have not been able to produce an acceptable amplified acoustic sound. The Z-Plus nailed it in spades. I thought my 04 Maz18 did a nice job, but the Z-Plus is IT. BTW my Z-Plus is using the Z-12, a great speaker. Z-Plus in bypass for acoustic is GREAT. Thanks Doc for a superbly versatile amp.
