At only $13k apiece I think I’ll take a couple. Agreed, that ones new to me as well. Never seen him with that one. Not an overly attractive burst either. But maybe that’s not the point.

It’s advertised as the LP of his dreams.
he might be the only one to afford it.

Lol...but wasn't the 'LP' he played back in the early, important days, a LP knock-off and not a real LP? Edit-I just looked at the link. That is one of the ugliest LPs I've ever seen !

I tired of people bashing Gibson and their Les Paul offerings. Any TRUE Les Paul lover would know that Gibson is the real deal and would happily accept whatever it is they're offering up. It used to be some dude would have a Les Paul and you'd be all "dude. nice Gibby." Now everyone's all "i don't like that brass nut", "what's with the circuit board in my control cavity". Everyone's complaining and not the least bit thankful. How did this happen? How did we become so divided?!?!

So, the front looks very simple although a '58 probably looked like that. The back actually looks good to me. It looks like some very nice wood and reminds me of my '68 Gold Top. My first thought was "I don't really care about buying a guitar with some star's name behind it". But, I kind of liked the Eric Clapton Strat because of the features and the onboard preamp. Although, at the end, I bought a regular strat. If anyone here buys one, I will say "Dude! Nice Gibby!".

It does have a beautiful back, best looking part of the guitar.

I was going to say the price seems a little high, then I realized it comes with strap locks. If you don't think about it, it makes sense. I'd rather have the new traditional- then by my own strap locks and save the left over TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS store.gibson.com/products/les-paul-traditional-2019/

I saw a picture of Slash signing the guitars at the production line. Had to laugh, you can see the $$ rolling up in his eyes. Nothing against Slash, I'd do the same given the chance. But really, it's not an attractive guitar and you wouldn't want to take it out and play it. Is it worth that much money as an investment? Not for me.

I have to ask, other than the strap locks and the Slash signature......what makes it so special? It looks like they've got different pickups in it, but that's no big deal. Am I missing something?
Here's what I think I'm NOT missing:
"LIMITED RUN"
Translation: We're building just a few of these so we can dupe a few of the real hard core Slash/GnR fans. They want to be like their guitar hero, so they'll spend the money.
Translation part II: We're building just a few of these, because we'll only sell a few of these.

Hmmm ... hide glue, nitro finish, and a 2”x 2’ strip of Brazilian rosewood. For $13k. They’re building 150 of them.
I think they’ll have a few left over. And I don’t think Slash will have to adjust his schedule to leave time for a lot of guitar signings.

Hide glue? Isn't that for acoustics? Hide glue on a solid body electric? I don't get it.
That's like saying 'quality tires' for a sailboat.
