This Remedy is fairly new to me. I'm getting some noise, crackling, spitting, rumbling, when powering up from standby to on. The noise disappears after a few seconds. I swapped out V1 with 4 other used tubes that I had in the house, and noise is slightly different on each, but only slightly.
Would this be a power tube issue? V2? 3?
The noise also occurs, albeit briefly, when I power down.
I'm ordering a new set of tubes now and will replace all positions. But in the meantime any thoughts/ suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I went through the process, but the noise doesn't occur until all tubes are installed. Would a microphonic tube cause damage? Because this noise became apparent to me tonight after I replaced a microphonic V1.

Spray some contact cleaner in all of the tube sockets and rock the tubes in their respective sockets.

I had the same type of issue with my Remedy, and it only happened when I had it in my office, which also had a lot of other electronics (router, wireless U-verse transmitter, cell signal booster, etc.) When I moved the amp out of that room, it was totally silent.

My tech just called. V1 tube socket was a little dirty. That was the only issue. Amp is fine.

He also said the 'star ground' was loose. I have no idea what that is.

I think that is the common ground point in the amp for all ground wires. If it’s loose, then I assume you get less-than-great grounding or intermittent grounding that can cause ground loops and hum.
